BIOGRAPHY
Elisabeth Condon (b. Los Angeles, CA) is a painter who splits her time between Tampa, FL and Brooklyn, NY. She has a Masters of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design. Condon has developed an extensive body of work that exploits the spill of poured paint as a central landmark in her compositions. Current work turns the psychedelic language of her earlier paintings to a darker and more specific focus rooted in the glam rock club scene in LA in the early 1970s. A recipient of a Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant, a Florida Individual Artist Fellowship and numerous university research grants, Condon has been selected for artist residencies at the Swatch Peace Hotel, Shanghai, Grand Canyon National Park, Wupatki National Monument, the Florida Everglades, the Corporation of Yaddo, Fountainhead Residency, Red Gate International Artist Residency, Beijing and Loft Nota Bene, Cadaques. She has had solo exhibitions at the Albany Museum of Art in Georgia, Georgia Southern University, Da Feng Gallery in China, and Grant Pirrie Gallery in Sydney, Australia, the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, FL and Emerson Dorsch in Miami, FL. She recently co-curated “POUR” a group exhibition of painting that traveled from the Schmidt Galleries at Florida Atlantic University to Asya Geisberg Gallery and Lesley Heller Workspace in New York.View Artist Bio
